hosting a talk show sounds like a miserable existence but so many celebrities want to do it. i guess it's the stability, they get to stay in one location and work only 3/4 days a week so i get that but you have to have the personality for it. there's no such thing as a shitty guest, if the episode doesn't work it's your fault.

I agree about it being miserable (at least to me) although there have been times when a guest just isn't cooperating no matter what the host does.

oh i'm fully with you, what i mean is that when your name is on the product you're at fault for the good and bad. it's just so much responsibility.

i guess if you're an extrovert its good, but so many hosts are just awkward and their acting/singing doesn't necessarily lend itself to hosting. i feel like its the same with podcasts - everyone thinks they can do one. its kind of self-indulgent.

yeah you have to be extremely extroverted and personable to host a talk show. a good one anyway.

You have to be able to think on your feet and be very well-versed in pop culture. Like half of Hollywood didn’t even finish high school and if they did, I doubt they know much about the general world outside of their bubble.
