Zazie Beetz, Delroy Lindo, Lakeith Stanfield, Regina King are joining the all Black Western, The Harder They Fall, for Netflix.
They join Lovecraft Country’s Johnathan Majors and Idris Elba. Danielle Deadwyler, Edi Gathegi, and RJ Cyler are also in the film.
The plot: Outlaw Nat Love (Majors), discovers that that the man (Elba), who killed his parents 20 years prior, is being released from prison. He reunites with his gang to track down his enemy and seek his revenge.
Jeymes Samuel (The Bullitts) will make his directorial debut on the film. Sameul also wrote the script with Boaz Yakin.
Samuel is also an executive producer and will write and produce original music for the film with Jay-Z. The film is being produced by Jay-Z, James Lassiter, and Lawrence Bender.
The actors are now in “cowboy camp”, learning the skills of gunslinging and horseback riding. Production is set to resume in New Mexico. The film was shut down in March due to the pandemic.
