Melody Thornton clarifies what really happened during THAT ICONIC live performance of “Buttons” at the 2006 American Music Awards. Thornton says she was sick with a bad cold and on medication, forgot her passport and was stuck in Germany. Wasn’t able to attend rehearsals and landed back in LA the day of the performance. So she was told to come out at the very end and sing since she “didn’t know the choreography.” Uh huh.

So there you have it folks: Nicole Scherzinger didn’t lock Melody Thornton in the dressing room right before the performance.

But... I want to BELIEVE.
