Bobby Brown was the first to go solo in 1988 to great success. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis convinced group members Michael Bivins,Ronnie Devoe,& Ricky Bell to form the trio Bell Biv Devoe and their album went 4 times platinum. Johnny Gill and Ralph Tresvant also were successful.All 6 members reunited in 1996 for the smash hit album "Home Again"
