Deadline reports that Anna Faris has decided to leave her CBS sitcom Mom after 7 seasons. She will not be appearing in the upcoming 8th season and her absence will be explained in the season premiere.
“The past seven years on Mom have been some of the most fulfilling and rewarding of my career,” Farris said. “I’m so thankful to Chuck, the writers, and my amazing castmates for creating a truly wonderful work experience. While my journey as Christy has come to an end, allowing me to pursue new opportunities, I’ll be watching next season and rooting for my TV family."
This is the second sitcom to lose its star for the upcoming season, with Americ Fererra exiting NBC sitcom Superstore, though unlike Anna Faris, she will return for the season premiere of her show to give her character a proper exit.
