• Amy Adams joins the cast of the film which also features Ben Platt (reprising the role he originated on Broadway), Kaitlyn Dever, and Amandla Stenberg.
• The musical focuses on Evan Hansen (Ben Platt) who gets caught in a lie and pretends to have been close friends with Connor a classmate who dies in an accident, but a letter he had stolen from Evan before his death makes it seem like Connor died by suicide and that Evan was his confidant . He gains notoriety and uses the opportunity to get closer to his crush, Zoe (Kaitlyn Dever), who happens to be Connor’s sister.
• Adams will be playing Zoe and Connor’s mom.
• Stephen Chbosky (Wonder, Perks of Being a Wallflower) is set to direct the film.
