I mean, movies like this don’t make stars. The movies themselves are the stars. There’s Harrison but he seems more like the exception and not the rule.

This is said as someone who has only seen episode four and half of five.

Your comment got me thinking and you're right that Harrison is the exception and not the rule. I'm struggling to think of another actor who started in a franchise who became a bone fide movie star.

I was about to say Jennifer Lawrence, but she already had an Oscar nom before Hunger Games. She was still pretty unknown to the general public when she got Hunger Games, though.

She was still getting offers though. Granted, she got A LOT more offers and another franchise, but Jennifer is probably one of the last actors somewhat made in a franchise.

Keira Knightley? I guess she kinda did a few things before Pirates, but that franchise really propelled her career.

Pirates wasn't really launched as a franchise though.

Really, Kristen Stewart and Twilight is all I can think of. Dakota Johnson too since she's been consistently working since 50 Shades. But I am not sure if I would consider those franchise films?

I don't know if I would count Dakota completely. I think she was in a sitcom before 50s and yeah she got more work after that but I feel like it was a combination of that + nepotism for her

I wouldn't call him a star necessarily but Hamill got a lot of work, especially voice work, afterwards.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the voice work fame came from landing The Joker.

You're right (and what an awesome Joker voice he is). I just meant that I don't think his Star Wars role stopped him from having a successful career as a voice actor.
