I know precautions are necessary and I'm glad they're taking them, but I couldn't help but cringe at all the plastic being used and probably thrown away each day.

Yeah it’s impossible to practice both COVID safety and environmentally friendly standards on a set. To minimize cross contact and shared use/spaces pretty much everything has to be single use or individual

That applies to everything. In NY, reusable bags aren't used anymore for safety reasons and we're back to plastic/paper bags. I can't even imagine the impact this is having on the environment.

My grocery delivery is no longer bagless so I've ended up with a stockpile of plastic bags I'm trying to reuse and recycle.

I'm doing the same. Best we can do at this time. On the other hand, the amount of gloves and masks I'm using at my office. It's horrible, even worse the people who drop them in the streets when they get out of offices/stores.

I've been doing curbside grocery too instead of shopping myself now that it's not completely overbooked, and I'm so fed up with all the plastic bags. If they have a substitution they'll ask me over the phone if it's ok, and it comes IN ITS OWN BAG. WHY??? They even bag bananas in their own clear bag INSIDE ANOTHER BAG. I'm drowning in bags. I'm ready to tell them just throw loose groceries in the back of my car and I'll deal with it myself. Christ.

in San Francisco, they're allowing reusable bags so long as you pack them yourself, no contact with the cashier.

at Targets there, you get twenty-five cents off for using them. But now they've reinstated the ten-cent paper bag charge.

I live further south, so I just bag my own stuff either at self-checkout or from my cart outside the store
