So I totally just made this post as an excuse to talk about the movie because uh…it’s not good? Unintelligible for a start, because the sound mixing is so bad, you can’t even hear half the dialogue. But then the plot is also just nonsensical. The inversion stuff is barely explained, it’s so bloated and over-complicated and yet none of the runtime is dedicated to making its characters resemble actual human beings. I got so increasingly frustrated by not knowing what was happening that by the final act, I was just waiting for it to be over. I feel like watching Inception the night before actually hurt Tenet, because Inception is clever and fun and engaging and, at its bare bones, simple enough to follow even if you still have questions here and there. Tenet isn’t really any of these things.

TL;DR: Don’t bother seeing it in the theatre unless yours has mandatory subtitles. Maybe not even then.

Oh yikes. The sound mixing for Nolan's films has been terrible for years, I don't get it. Inception, TDKR, and Dunkirk are all like that. I hate it. Although if I go to the drive in I can use headphones, maybe that would help.

I actually didn't think Inception's was that bad. I never once considered putting the subtitles on, but in Tenet I was really yearning for them.

Why is this trailer 3 mins long? Noped out after 2. I still want to see this for John David, but if it doesn't come to my drive in, I may never bother. Fuck Nolan.

Honestly I hate Nolan now when I was indifferent to him before having enjoyed a couple of his films but I want this to bomb

But also not because John David Washington doesn't deserve that. I'm conflicted.

He's so handsome tho. I can't wait for this to leak so I can watch his face.
