i watched a few episodes after, maybe tried to start the next season but i got annoyed by how negan just would not go away. i think the last full episode i watched was the one where they revealed the hispanic father from the first season was still alive.
I continued watching after that for some reason, so for me it was [Spoiler (click to open)]Carl dying after they'd made it seem like he'd be the next 'leader', and then Rick miraculously surviving being impaled and shipped off-screen.
I was gonna comment "oh but that happens in the comic!" but then I remember how it slowly turned into the Daryl show and he doesn't even exist in the comic, they fucked up everything, I left shortly after that.
I remember for like a year after constantly having that argument. Like they changed SO MUCH but that's the one point they need to stick to? And really, it's not so much that it was him, is that they ignored his character for the whole last season he was on (aka fake death). So it was like a slap - it's gonna happen and you get no time with him.
I clearly still am mad and I havent even watched the show in years
i stopped watching walking dead when i heard that they did that (the first time when they didn't actually do it). the show was already beginning to make me feel genuinely depressed- like the whole point was they just make you care about these characters and then nothing good will ever happen to them?? i pretend the show ended w/ the season 5 finale
otherwise for the most part I drop a show because it's getting bad as a whole not because of one certain moment
