That Aretha tribute was so good! Xtina sounded amazing with her rendition of Aint No Way! As did JHud and Yolanda Adams! I remember Aretha herself loved it based on her comments! IIRC she mentioned that Xtina and Yolanda were her favs that night.

I know a LOT of people criticize Xtina's singing style, but she's clearly been inspired by the old-school soul belters from back in the day. I know that singing style isn't popular anymore but I know several of them (Etta, Aretha) have praised her vocals. So... yas, you go Xtina.

I was just thinking that rewatching! I know people hate but when they’re all singing together, even without theatrics her voice is so powerful and unique you can hear it over the others.
