I'll still eat Halloween candy and watch scary movies but yeah, Halloween is #cancelled. I think most holidays will be canceled at least in my family they are. We kept 4th of July to 6 people and Thanksgiving, Xmas will probably be the same.

I have a feeling people are not gonna be able to not having a traditional Christmas though, my heart goes out to retail workers. It's hard enough working during a regular holiday season now you have to worry about possibly getting sick because so many people are going to shop anyways.

True. Im sure the corporations are gonna put their schedules in overdrive, moreso than usual. Hopefully they close everything down on Christmas like how they're doing with Thanksgiving. Also how is black Friday even gonna work? That's gonna be a fuckin mess.

A lot of places have said they will close on Thanksgiving this year, however the only big retailer I see still monitering how many people can enter the store is walmart. I went to target and a grocery store the other day and there was nobody at the door

I'm at Ulta and we're keeping a strict count. our location is only approved for 40 people, including staff.

as a walmart worker, all bets are off once they're in the store. they don't follow the one-way aisle rules - and we aren't allowed to enforce it. they take off their masks - and we aren't allowed to say shit. they put their filthy non-service animals in the same carts you put your veggies - and i almost got fired for saying that wasn't allowed lol.

also, yeah, we have off thanksgiving. until midnight. bc it's black friday.

What are retailers going to do on Black Friday? I feel like the signals that I've seen from government are that we need to keep the economy going and that public safety takes a secondary seat. It's absolutely shameful. The next few months, coupled with flu season, are going to be a MESS.

I've been thinking a lot about this. Little kids are going to be SO pissed. lol Halloween will be cancelled and then probably those mall Santas aren't going to be happening.

I wouldn't even know how to explain this to a kid tbh. I'm glad I dont have a kid cause I'd be crazy, normally I'd probably be an overprotective parent so I can't even imagine having a kid now. This makes me wish I was rich cause I'd totally spend a couple million on delivering toys/food and putting together a Christmas concert with a light show or something

I'm on my local mall's email list and they sent me a survey today asking if I expect the mall to be decorated for the holidays, will I visit Santa, will my pet visit Santa, will I do online shopping, etc?

they know they're fucked

god help my dad's side of the family if they decide to pull a "we're all fine!" sort of move, eff that - someone always shows up sick and passes it onto everyone else

Thats the thing that's scary, all this social distancing is just gonna make people double down on spending time together for the holidays. Like right now there's a protest in LA over hair salons opening but one of the girls that organized literally flew from Texas and was caught not even wearing her mask right at the protest. Like. I never knew so many hair people were this ignorant, well, actually, I shouldn't be surprised

I am kind of excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas being canceled because that means both of my roommates will be here and I can do weird holiday stuff with them

if this means I don't have to go to Thanksgiving with my cousins, I'm down. it's the boringest holiday, and one of them married a stump and his stump family always comes along and I don't care for them.
