I saw the 1990 version in theaters as a kid and I loved Anjelica Huston as the Grand High Witch, so I really hope Anne made the role her own.

Anjelica was so striking in it, I just watched it for the first time last week and I could not stop looking at her

I also just watched it for the first time last week! I don't know how I missed it b/c I was obsessed with Roald Dahl books as a kid.

But yes, Anjelica is truly captivating.

Anjelica was amazing in it. Queen. Anne looks too young here idk. Del Toro is producing, so I hope there's a nice aesthetic at least.

It’s interesting too because they’re VERY close to the same age when they each filmed the movie. One a year apart.

Hmm interesting, I guess there are several factors; like my perspective as a kid, Anne having a "fresher" look and Anjelica who always had a more commanding presence. I hope they don't go too aesthetically similar to Depp's Willy Wonka.
