Parco art museum in Shibuya, Tokyo is currently showcasing Daniel Arsham’s contemporary Pokémon art exhibition. Arsham is an American artist whose work revolves around ‘Fictional Archeology’.

Called ‘Relics of Kanto Through Time’, like the name suggests, it features Kanto region favourites such as Pikachu, Charmander and Gengar. And if the budget allows it, you can have a chance to acquire some of the collaborative artworks, such a particularly pricey Pikachu sculpture, for ¥300,000 (about $3000 tax added). The piece can only be bought by lottery, so even if you have the funds, you have to be lucky enough to be chosen too.

There’s also affordable merchandise available for the average art-loving Pokémon trainer, with high end goods such as tote bags and other sculptures as part of the exhibition.

Exhibition runs from 1st to 16th August. As a public art sculpture, there will also be a 2 metre tall bronze Pikachu statue stationed on the first floor of Shibuya Parco.
