Six-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams (Arrival, Big Eyes) is set to team up with Annapurna Pictures for her next vehicle Nightbitch, an adaptation of Rachel Yoder's upcoming novel. The novel is set to be published in 2021 by Doubleday.

The plot of the book will center on an unnamed woman and former artist, who, after the birth of her son, is thrust into stay-at-home domesticity. Her husband, who travels for work five nights a week, dismisses her fear of hotel rooms. At home without her husband, the mother is forced to contend with the physical manifestations of her solitary anxiety with only her two-year-old son with her. After an impulsive and disastrous encounter with the family cat, the unnamed woman seeks a cure for her condition in an herbal marketing scheme led by a group of moms all named Jen and and another woman named Wanda White, an academic who claims to specialize in 'mythical ethnography.'

There is no word yet on when production will begin for the film. Adams' next films to be released are Ron Howard's Hillbilly Elegy and Joe Wright's The Woman in the Window.
