I went 3 months without alcohol during quarantine and it was the best decision I could make. Honestly you do realize who your real friends are and ones you just enjoy being drunk around. It's a very clear distinction that many ppl learn the hard way.

Mazel tov to her! I have a few people in my life who have struggled for almost their entire lives with addiction. It's so scary to see from the outside, I can't imagine what it's like to be actually going through it. I'm very proud of her and wish her the very best with her sobriety.

Also wish you the very best, OP! Be that classy lady drinking cherry coke in the wine glass. I'm that boring sober person as well!

When in doubt, pinky out! We had these plastic wine glasses that you snap together and I felt like such an adult drinking my soda out of it. With my twisty straw, of course. I didn't want to be that much of an adult.

I haven't had a cherry temple in years! I remember when I'd go to get lunch with my Grandmum on Fridays, I'd always get one! Those were such good memories.

I'm sorry about your 'friends', OP, I am sure you can find real ones that don't just want to drink all the time.
I am not a big drinker, I'll have some wine or a cocktail but I really don't understand what's so good about drinking, especially the way it makes you feel after the really short and temporary high. Personally, I find drinkers really boring.

I don’t drink anymore and I’ve found most of my friends don’t care at all if they have a beer or a glass of wine and I just have a Diet Coke. Turns out I was the biggest drinker and everybody else was just having two.
