Amber's assistant Kate James has testified that Amber used her own story about her assault in the case against Johnny Depp.

Kate James worked as Amber's assistant from 2012-2015 and testified she had once confided in Amber about her rape at machete-point in Brazil around 25 years ago to her former employer.

UPDATE: After Kate James told Amber about her own story, Amber suggested that Kate should buy a gun to which Kate responded that she sees herself as a "rape survivor" not a "rape victim".

"In her statement, parts of which were read out in court, Ms James revealed that she only received documents related to the High Court libel hearing last month.

She adds: 'As I perused the documents, much to my utter shock and dismay, I discovered that Ms Heard had in fact stolen my sexual violence conversation with her and twisted it into her own story to benefit herself".

"She referred directly to a violent rape that occurred to me 26 years ago and she twisted it into her own story and she used it for her own use," James testified. "This of course caused me extreme distress and outrage that she would dare to attempt to use the most harrowing experience of my life as her own narrative."

James added: "I am a sexual violence survivor and that's very, very serious to take that stance if you are not one."
