i swear mako/korra only happened bc the writers wanted to a throw a bone to all of the zutara shippers as if any firebender/waterbender pairing would do smh. i actually think aang "winning the girl" was more annoying than teenagers being normal and messy in lok but what can u do atp.

pll would've been amazing if marlene king hadn't been such an asshole to the fans who either guessed storylines before she wanted them to or came up with better storylines than she did. aria being a is absolutely how the show should've ended and i WILL die on this hill!!

in the comic books Aang and Katara keep referring to each other as "sweetie" non stop and it's just so annoying and grating!! no one talks like that in real life

Aang didn't "win the girl" , it was obvious it was meant to happen, Zutara was the most cliché pairing ever and after Zuko betrayed them for Azula and almost got Aang killed it was dead.

i respectfully disagree, i think they very much played into the hero gets the girl trope.

i don't think so considering there were hints both liked each other, especially on season 2 and 3, if she suddenly started to like him i would say the same but things happened like that episode in the tunnel or that time when he was pretending to be part of a Fire Nation school and they did that dance or that time before they tried to take down Ozai when the sun eclipse happened or the episode with the play.

it should have been written better? absolutely, those writers weren't very good at writing romance (thing that it's more than clear considering what happened on LOK) but it didn't came out of nowhere.

I don't mind teenagers being messy, I just never cared for Mako as a character (but especially in the first and second season) and it's annoying that he got so much time as a love interest only for Korra's "end game" partner to get paid dust.

tbh I thought they did a worse job overall in Legend of Korra with the characters. idk all of the Avatar characters were instantly likable and had great back and forth and I just never was charmed or fell in love with the LoK characters the same way. I do think, to the show's credit, they got a lot better at writing their characters in the later season of LoK. But I needed that sooner.

mako was such a wet blanket for so long. i get what they were trying to go for with his character but meh. he's really only interesting when he and bolin are teamed up.
