I hope she's okay and has a good support system. Being choked is terrifying.

It's also a really bad sign, even when compared to other kinds of abuse. Abused women who are strangled have a six times higher risk of being murdered than other abused women. I really hope she gets away from him.

I can definitely understand that stat. Even I’ve had the urge to hit a person before (no... this is not a condone of hitting your partner, just an urge in general to hit a person) but I feel like strangling anyone has a pure intent of killing a person. I can’t think of a single time I’ve had an urge to actually put my hands around someone’s neck

Yep. When I first heard that stat I was shocked. The person I know who was choked by her boyfriend ended up marrying him.

I wonder why choking in particular seems to be the worst sign? I've also heard that statistic and it's so scary.

I hope she has the means to get away from him. The fact that domestic violence is happening during this pandemic where people's options are limited (either because they're trying to stay safe, have lost work, can't travel to loved ones, etc) is just so so awful.
