all of the 'psycho' storylines on OTH annoyed me so much. i think all of the main girls had one (derek, nanny carrie, xavier + katie). looking back it was fucked up cos you could just tell it was mark writing them. the fact that none of the men really had to act out those sorts of storylines (bar maybe nathan being kidnapped) was so telling.

i haven't watched in ages, but jasper in 90210 was hella creepy. he felt like an incel dude you'd come across irl.

As a OTH fan (IDGAF what anyone says, OTH >>>> The OC) I hate that post like S5 the show just became a money grab, they only continued it because it was bringing money tbh. The writing deteriorated sm that I feel like the psycho arcs was the writers trying to think of anything they could to stretch out a storyline because they had nothing else and became lazy.

yeah ia. i did like s9 (just because brooke was my fav and it was nice to finally learn about her dad + see her become a mother), but you could tell they were running out of stuff to write/repeating storylines constantly.

I liked the Derek one, but all the subsequent ones were just retreads of it.

yeah true. i think i liked it at the time because it was so unexpected (especially when he came back), and i do like matt barr, but it feels kind of creepy now and like mark was projecting his own obsession of peyton/hilarie into the show.

It worked for me because Peyton desperately wanted a connection to her bio family, so I believed her letting him into her life. Other stalkers, like Nanny Carrie, I couldn't buy anyone letting in.

But, you're right, Marc's obsessed with Hilarie ruined it.
