Spice Girls celebrate their debut single, that started it all 'Wannabe' as it turns 24. The #1 chart smash catapulted the Spice Girls into superstardom and turned earth into Spice World. The song infuses female empowerment and the woman's right to chose a lover, listing their criteria and compatablity with her friends. The Spice Girls were inescapable dominating the charts, film, assortment of official licensed items and their Spice World Tour 2019 broke records last year. Here are some facts about the song:

-Zig A Zig Ah means sex.

-Virgin Records wanted 'Love Thing', to be their debut single. They hated 'Wannabe' so manager Simon Fuller commissioned an engineer to mix it to the version we all hear today.

-Their rival girl group All Saints hated the song and touted it a nursery rhyme.

-In a poll the song was chosen as the most easily recognizable pop song of the last 60 years.

-Victoria has no lines in the song as she wasn't present for the writing/recording session.

-Virgin hated the video and the video was banned in some countries because you could tell some members were cold.

- Wannabe went to number one in 46 countries worldwide and became the biggest-selling debut single of all time.
