Was Groff’s drooling intentional? It was distracting.

Been reading some interesting criticisms of Hamilton lately (mostly by Lyra Monteiro) and then read this take this morning and still thinking about it.

Mostly they've been BIG in fandom communities forever - I believe they were in the core fandom writers clique in Harry Potter. I can't even explain the frustration I feel around them. They really jump from fandom to fandom courting the BNFs

Mostly, their life has revolved around fandom forever and so it's just - of course it colors how she view everything in the world. Its just fanfic! Its just a race-bent AU fanfic of a nonfiction novel when, there is an actual genre of what they are alking about, Historical Fiction.

Also I started reading that article, god halfway through and went - wait a second only one person writes these kinds of articles, scrolled to the top and there Aja was. Never change Aja!

I hate that their MO seems to be a) choose a piece of media they have no interest in or familiarity with, b) make out of context observations they know will be upsetting to the fandom, and then c) bouncing on to the next piece of media/fandom they have no stake in to repeat the process.

Yesssss. I'm super irritated they managed to spin themselves into capital J journalist, cause all they do is write about fandom and pop culture in a way that is super cringy to me.
