Here are 4 celebrity promos that left us very disappointed. This was inspired by Brie Larson's announcement to join Youtube.
Criteria for my selection:
-- It involves a celebrity
-- Anticipation built up around the announcement
-- The announcement is a flop
1. Pottermore is a flop
How was it promoted?
-- It was supposed to be THEE destination for all things Harry Potter.
Why did it flop?

-- Fans were expecting a fun RPG, but it was not that. The website didn't provide enough content to keep the fandom engaged.
-- Also the Pottermore Twitter account would tweet out questionable facts no one asked for:
-- JK Rowling eventually
fired all her Pottermore staff in 2018.
-- The site is no longer active.
2. Beyonce announces she's vegan
How was it promoted?
-- On June 7, 2015 we learned that Beyonce would be making a
special announcement on GMA.
-- Speculation went wild over what it would be. Pregnancy? A new album? WE WANTED TO KNOW!

-- She just told us she was going vegan. That was it.
-- The Beyhive was not happy.
3. Kendall reveals she struggles with acne...then says she has a sponsorship with Proactiv

How was it promoted?
-- On January 5, 2019, we learned that Kendall would be sharing a deep and personal story on her twitter.
-- Noted Momager praised Kendall for being "brave and vulnerable."
-- Speculation was that Kendall would be coming out or saying she had anxiety. Something of substance.

-- It was supposed to be a rare moment of authenticity and vulnerability from the Kardashian/Jenner Klan. However, it was just another sponsorhip announcement.
-- I truly thought she would be announcing the answer to solving racial inequity and police militarization with more than a Pepsi can.
4. Brie Larson is joining Youtube
I realized something...

July 1, 2020How was it promoted?
-- On June 30, 2020, Brie started posting cryptic messages on her insta.
-- It looked like she was recording certain conversations with family members to let them know something about her.
-- Coming off the heels of Pride month, some people (myself included) thought Brie would be coming out.
Why did it flop?
-- Reference post

-- It was to announce that she would be joining Youtube as a creator.
