yep. took me a few tries because the book opens with a chapter-long dream lmao. I hate listening to people talk about their dreams, and reading about it is even worse. but after that the book is actually amazing. I loved it.
I’m reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova but stopped for a bit since I got to part 2. I tend to do that when I’m reading a really long book. I did the same with Dune.
I'm going to try Saint X for this challenge, about a girl whose sister is murdered on their family vacation to a Caribbean island (Natalee Holloway vibes). I'm guessing there will be a plot twist since it's a mystery, but if not I'll find something else.
Here's what I've done so far for the challenge:
January: Rebecca (HIGHLY recommend, the writing is incredible) February: My Sister the Serial Killer (fun, fast) March: The Godfather (I can see how this would be a great movie) April: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (due to HP triggering Christians lol) May: Haven't actually finished this one, but I'm reading the second HP book in French, so if I can finish that this year I'll be counting it thanks to Mrs. Norris! June: Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions (hugely entertaining)
Yesss, I was hoping for this post today! For the OK, Boomer! challenge I read a book by Henry Rollins. He is such a grump! A very brilliant, expressive grump!
I've been a HUGE flop with books this year. I've gotten maybe... 13 done? I'm not even sure if they fit the themes for the challenge actually, LOL, I need to go back and look at my list. in recent years I was able to read so many (thanks to my commute) and idk I can't get my brain to focus on books this year. Sigh. Maybe this month I'll catch up...

The movie really did take all the good sections/parts from the book and made it into 2 great movies.
