FRIENDS: Chandler comes out of the closet.

It's the 90's and while Friends was progressive for the time they were. The show would've made a lot more sense to have Chandler be gay. They were certainly building towards it, and the sassyness was just there. I would've loved to see Chandler trying to date in the 90's.

Cha-cha-cha-changessss!! )

No, he definitely did because he got the two kids he always wanted-that Robin couldn’t have/didn’t want-and then stilllll got Robin in the end.

[Spoiler (click to open)]So the first 22 episodes of the ninth season (mostly) take place in the single weekend leading up to Barney and Robin's wedding (which takes place in May 2013). There are some flash forwards scattered in that show Ted/Tracy (the mother) as a couple, so we get a feel for their relationship. The 22nd episode ends with Barney and Robin getting married. The finale (which was the final two episodes) then shows the character throughout the years from 2013 to 2030 (when Ted is telling the story). After a few years, Barney and Robin got divorced (this happens before the first commercial break after we'd just spent 22 episodes watching their wedding...), then Robin slowly grows more distant from the group (though she's still close-ish to Lily, based off what we know) when she realizes she should've ended up with Ted, Barney has a one-night stand that gets pregnant, and Marshall & Lily finally move out of the apartment. Ted and Tracy have an extended engagement before we finally see their wedding, and (it's implied) Robin slowly reintegrates ... )

Thank you for the long explanation!
They didn't even explore Ted and Tracy's relationship smh

They kind of did. All of the flash forwards were of their relationship. They just had their "first meeting" scene as the final scene shown to us, if that makes sense.

Completely agree, the pacing was shocking, especially as they'd stretched out one weekend over so many episodes. I'm still angry over that ending!

Yes! I mean, I think him ending up with Robin was lame, but the pacing was what killed me! They spent all this time making us really like Tracy (& though she was a bit of a manic-pixie dream girl, she felt like a real character) and then killed her and had him going after Robin in literally 3 minutes.

Why couldn't they have taken 1-2 episodes away from the SEASON of wedding episodes to space this out??? Ugh, I'll always be mad, because I truly loved the first few seasons of HIMYM.

The worst thing is the final episode was actually really good. Pacing and all. Tracey was such a brilliant character and I was genuinely in tears at the end when she died and their meeting.

And then THAT happened.
