No shit?

Why are people acting brand new? Yesterday the news did a segment on if black people are harassed by the cops and arrested more than white people. Duh? Then they said we were more likely to harassed in wealthy areas. No fucking shit?!?!? This is not new!!!

It wasn't news then, but wasn't criming while white or something similar a hashtag campaign a few years ago?

What? Everyone knew this. It was even covered on Fresh Prince in the 90's! The early eps!

There's a lot of racist things we just turn a blind eye to. Like this. Or the fact that black people are less likely to get a job because our names sound black. People know. They just don't care.

I grew up in a largely white midwest town. This very much is news to a lot of people in middle America or just small towns in general.

I get ya. But I guarantee most people where I am from "can't be racist! They have a black friend!"
Racism is that black and white to them. Granted, I have been gone for over a decade so the internet could have taught them some things, but I doubt it. Really, the only way to escape that mentality is to leave for a few years. I can count most "woke" (lack of better word here but I mean that in the big broad sense) people from there and they all are ones who moved away.
