there are a lot of amazing moments in friends. i get its problematic but its iconic for a reason.

That’s why I voted girls over friends; friends is problematic but at least made me laugh - The One Where Everyone Finds Out is a perfect sitcom episode - whereas Girls was insipid nonsense from the get go

It's overrated and I'm saying this as someone who can quote every episode. It's a ripoff a better black sitcom and the writing, while tight, is not as great as people think it was. It deserves to win. It's trash.

its not trash. all sitcoms rip off shit, it had a brilliant cast and thats what matters. its not breaking bad, its 23 mins of joey with a turkey on his head and i love it.

The same complaints people have for friends seem to be able to be attributed to girls so I don’t get the difference. At least the actors on friends aren’t Lena Dunham.

I tried to watch girls a few times and they were insufferable.

I think the difference is that it's been twenty years and people are still talking about how great it is. Everyone forgot Girls existed years ago.
