I know what you mean, and this is definitely a show catered to teens, but I as a POC daughter of immigrants, found it super relatable, and found I had a lot of similar experiences to when I was a teenager, so it was great

as an older viewer i still found it really relatable? the cousin and the mom have struggles that are worth watching and the youth oriented scenes were done well makes you nostalgic for your own past imo
i think the 3 women at different ages help the story not just cater to teens
