- According to The GWW, reputable website on movies and comics, the studio Legendary Pictures is working on two different live action adaptations of The Sims and SimCity
- For The Sims adaptation, early character descriptions include Katie "a hot funny mess", Cliff her "cute nerd BFF", Rick "a mixed martial arts historical musical performer", Cora, Katie's bitter and sarcastic assistant, Jared the "womanizing douche" at her firm and more
- No mention of any OG Sims character showing up
- For SimCity adaptation, the studio wants to do a comedy disaster movie around the SimCity world
- Legendary Pictures are behind the live action movies 'Detective Pikachu' and 'Warcraft'
- The Sims was first considered to be adapted into a movie back in 2007 when the rights were bought by 20th Century Fox but after Disney bought the company, the project was dropped for good
