Where to begin...
Last night, R&B legends Teddy Riley and Babyface were set to participate in a Verzuz battle on Instagram. Timbaland and Swizz Beatz created the friendly competition as a way to give back to fans during this time. The Riley/Babyface battle competition was highly publicized on social media and fans turned in to see their favorites perform.
What followed was a glorious and hilarious night on social media, particularly Black Twitter. The event was highlighted by Toni Braxton's tweets documenting the fiasco.

Babyface was alone and ready to go. Teddy Riley had an entire crew with him to film his performance. Riley was also trying to stream the performance on his website and on Instagram at the same time. That led to the echo and additional sound issues.

Babyface was the one to pull the plug and was extremely gracious at Riley's numerous fuckups.
We had almost 500K watching, but we’ll get this right next time. Nothing special comes easy. We’re postponing this battle to a later date to properly honor these two legends. We learn from our mistakes and will come back harder #verzuz
