I'm glad they're both recovering. I'm hearing more and more people are getting better so that's making me hopeful this thing will be controlled soon-ish. If people listen and follow the rules that is.

I've had a sore throat for weeks now and while I'm not convinced it's that, I'm nervous it's making me vulnerable.

I've had a sore throat for a few weeks as well and I'm starting to wonder if I have it after I read a comment from another member here who said a family member confirmed that they had the virus with only just having a sore throat (with no other symptoms). I have allergies, but I've never gotten a sore throat from my allergies before (my throat feels weird during allergy season but it's never been this bad). idk it's weird

Omg, IA, the is exactly me too Ughhhh. I'm sorry bb.

My only indicator, as sick and sad as it is, is that I'm staying with my grandmother and she's fine, so I'm leaning closer to me not having it. But idk idk :/

ty, and I'm sorry too bb! ya it sucks, but assuming we actually do have it then we can count ourselves lucky that our symptoms are only mild. But you live with your grandma so there's a high chance you don't have it after all (can old people even have it and not show any symptoms as well? maybe that's a possibility...) But the best thing we can do now is of course constantly wash our hands, keep disinfecting things we touch and not touch our face. Just act like you do have it to keep other people safe cause there's people who have it and are showing no symptoms at all you know

<3 thank youu

That's true! If we do have it and this is the worst, I'll take it lol. But yeah - I haven't heard much in the way of older people/people in the largest targeted group being asymptomatic, so I'm hoping for the best. But definitely! Gonna wipe everything down as soon as I'm done with work hehe.

Sending you positive vibes, and stay healthy!

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Maybe it is just my allergies (or just something else that's not covid). Is your friend able to get her throat checked out for other things (i.e. strep throat, tonsillitis, etc?). From my personal experience, it seems that urgent cares (and dentists) will accept an appointment if a person is having a lot of pain. If your friend is having a lot of pain from her sore throat and she tries to schedule an appointment at an urgent care they may accept her.

Thanks bb! I hope everything works out for your friend <3

If it helps I was sick a few weeks ago with all the COVID symptoms except for a cough, had a sore throat as well and I tested negative. There are so many illnesses going around rn. Keep an eye on it and if you get anything else like a fever or shortness of breath (or gastro symptoms), tell your dr if you have one or call urgent care.

Do you know what kind of illnesses are going around?

The flu is prob the biggest one aside from covid. iirc the last time I spoke to one of my drs about it (a month or two ago) he mentioned that he’s been seeing a lot of people for the flu, respiratory infections, strep and bronchitis. I hope you feel better soon bb!

Oh interesting. Thanks bb! <3

Slightly off topic but I at least know I don't have bronchitis cause I came down with it two years ago. TWICE (one week after I was cured the first time lol lbr). For me it had more to do with excessive coughing than having a sore throat. I knew something was off when I was coughing my guts out for more than a week and no type or amount of cough medicine would help it. I can at least rule that out..

Lol it’s a virus, they can have many hosts. They can infect both invertebrates and vertebrates according to Wikipedia. There are many species but the one I’m talking about causes fifth disease in kids. Apparently adults can get it too

I feel like I’m on the same boat as you, and it’s bringing out my anxiety since there are so many symptoms and it can manifest itself in different ways. Stay strong and I’m wishing you the best.
