This is weird but I LOVE getting vaccines. My mom, doctors and nurses always made sure I was regularly vaccinated (TY to all of them) and now that I'm an adult I always take them. I remember in university they were like "Free rubella shots in the quad" and I gathered my friends together and was like "Let's all get vaccinated together!"

My doctors are always so timid about suggesting vaccines now, I guess because of the anti-vaxx movement. Like "And it's time for you to get this vaccine, but only if you're comfortable" and I'm like "Shoot me up!" For a tiny pinch I get to contribute to my health and to the health of others! What a great trade off.

Not weird imo! That reminds me that whenever I get my annual flu shot I actually like that my arm gets sore because I'm like YES IT'S WORKING

yeah, my arm wasn't sore this year and I ended up hospitalized with the flu!

I got the MMR vaccine as a kid but got measles at 20

But it's likely because of the vaccine I got in the first place that I only had to be quarantined and eat bland food food for a week, instead of ending up with organ damage or a disability the way old-school measles often used to do. I like to point this out to the antivaxxers too.

my son is 1.5 and i remember how his doctor casually brought up shots to see my reaction and she was visibly relieved when my response was HELL YEAH LOAD HIM UP LETS DO THIS.

there was a measles scare here before he turned 1 and it was so stressful.

I've had several random health issues back to back which has caused me to have my blood drawn and IVs put in more times over the past couple years than my entire life previously.
It has NEVER gotten easier. If anything, I hate needles more now than I did before my health went haywire.
