What is it like to be a front desk clerk?
I have wondered about that kind of job since I applied to 2 places before but I never got a call back.

The hotel I worked at was kinda weird because it was actually a government-run training center - a facet I emphasize in job interviews far more than it actually mattered lol. I actually liked some aspects of it a lot, like getting to work alone and/or unsupervised most of the time. I would have worked there much longer if the weekend overnight guy hadn’t quit and left us in a lurch, because everyone who was hired there had to undergo a background check that could take months, so as a new employee I was then stuck for months working overnights once a week on Friday or Saturday and then doing normal 3-11 or 7-3 shifts during the week, which completely killed my body and my social life. I had to leave because of that. Otherwise, it was like any other customer service facing position, but most of the time it was super low pressure unlike say, retail. The only times it was fast paced was on Friday and Sunday afternoons when everyone checked in/out but the process was so straightforward that those shifts went super quickly. Plus, given that

It was during my senior year of high school. I was a part of an art program and knew the man who would lead the mural project. It was a part of a revitalization program for a neighborhood in my city.
