+ Fiona Apple talks her new album in a new profile written by Emily Nussbaum and published by The New Yorker.
+ The album’s title, Fetch The Bolt Cutters, is a reference to the British procedural The Fall, in which Gillian Anderson plays a sex crimes investigator.
+ She drew much of her inspiration from the #MeToo movement.
+ She discusses her rape and how she's dealt with PTSD and recalls many experiences she's had with questionable characters over the years including David Blaine (listed in Jeffrey Epstein's black book), Woody Allen (Fiona was friends with Daisy Previn and would often see Allen when visiting) and Johnny Depp (she and a friend of hers did mushrooms in Depp's house in Hollywood Hills).
+ Apple also discusses her prior boyfriends (including some subtle emotional abuse from PTA) and her breakup with writer Jonathan Ames which ended partially due to his concern over her alcohol abuse. She quit drinking about a year ago.
+ A few details on the tracklist/songs: Cara Delevingne sings on the title track. “For Her,” written in the wake of Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings, includes the startling lyric, “Good mornin’! Good mornin’ / You raped me in the same bed your daughter was born in”. “The Drumset Is Gone,” the last of which was written during a fight with her bandmates after her breakup.
