They’re being super strict in my area and won’t test anyone unless they meet specific criteria. We have a buttload of cases though and I’m certain we have way more than the reported number.

Yep, I tried to get tested and they told me I didn't meet the criteria because I didn't interact directly with the person that tested positive (friend of a friend). Even though I had some of the symptoms and have been in an airport recently!! lol

My workplace also said we are not allowed to work from home unless someone tests positive... like what???? How if they are barely testing anyone???

I get that they don't have a lot of tests (or in a lot of cases, have none), but it's really crazy to me how they're choosing to test. I live in NYC and a friend of mine is an NP. A coworker of hers is quarantined because her child's teacher tested positive and when I asked if they had gotten tested yet she said they were refused tests because her child being in direct contact was apparently not enough to warrant a test. Mind you, the unit they work in sees patients that are almost exclusively elderly and some have severe underlying conditions. So there's a possibility she could have had it and been spreading it unknowingly but she can't know for sure because they're refusing to test.
