I don't get why Netflix didn't stagger the release of The Witcher. Even their successes are just short flashes before the hype fizzles out again.

Netflix does binge releases for all their scripted shows. Why would they stop for this one? All it would do is make viewers mad that we can't binge the show.

I agree. Judging by how much praise and obsession I've seem people display, it could have been a weekly event for some people like GoT was. People also could have digested the wonky timeline better as well. I'm still confused about all that fate and destiny talk and I still don't understand what a child surprise is any why she suddenly belonged to him??????

That and they did the witcher/sorceress relationship really badly! One episode they meet for the first time, the next they're talking like they've known each other for years. Show me that shit, don't tell me.

I think it was still trying to hint at years going by, without outright saying that we were in different timelines yet.

In the same episode Yennifer tells Jaskier, “The crows feet are new.”

But I agree 100%, it was awkward and even just flashback scenes of the two of them in bed at different points would’ve been effective.

It took me a minute to get too, but basically in that world if you owe a debt to someone and they claim Law of Surprise as payment, then they have left it up to destiny and whatever unexpected good thing/windfall next comes into your life belongs to them no matter what it is. Which apparently includes children

ITA on the relationship building. Too much off screen and relying on people to be familiar with the source material and already invested in the pairing

Yeah, there's definitely a missing episode in there. Wish they'd had like 9 or 10 episodes to work with that season.

mte I really enjoyed it but 2021 for the next season?! In what reality is the show good enough to sustain interest for that long lmao. I bet they do try and speed it up tho and get it out the end of this year.

(Which would do tbh the first season being out around that time helped me to ignore my most hated season - Christmas.)
