Stephen King Condemns Hachette's Decision to Drop Woody Allen Memoir
The Hachette decision to drop the Woody Allen book makes me very uneasy. It's not him; I don't give a damn about Mr. Allen. It's who gets muzzled next that worries me.

Another day, another shitty opinion from Stephen King. Now he's mad at publisher Hachette for NOT publishing alleged pedophile Woody Allen's memoir (after their own employees risked their jobs to let them know they suck) and worried about the slippery slope of censorship (that's not what censorship mea... oh forget it) and who could be "muzzled" next (hopefully other alleged pedophiles). Because 'in Amurricahhh..." blah blah blah
Just to bring some facts, Allen's memoir had already been rejected by several publishers before being picked up by Hachette (is that muzzling him too, King?), and they are giving him back the rights to the text, which means that he can still take his trash to be published anywhere else that will have him (or self-publish, even, just as it happened with that Milo guy). Maybe King can contribute to Allen's cause with a donation if he cares so much.
If you think he's a pedophile, don't buy the book. Don't go to his movies. Don't go listen to him play jazz at the Carlyle. Vote with your wallet...by withholding it. In America, that's how we do. https://t.co/znGZu0wJEF

Let me add that it was fucking tone-deaf of Hachette to want to publish Woody Allen’s book after publishing Ronan Farrow’s.

Sounds like censorship to .me. If you don't want to read it, don't read it. Pretty simple. If you work for the publisher and have an ethical problem, ask to be taken off the project. If you should get fired for taking a stand, sue 'em
