Heartbroken but not surprised.

ETA, sidenote - I really want Bernie over Biden but I'm glad more people are talking about the entitlement of his white male fanbase in how they continue to treat people. It's not his fault or his job to make these grown men act like they have home training or know how to be civil but their determination for it to be him or nothing is very counterproductive

It's not just white men who aren't willing to vote for Biden.

It's not at all about not wanting to vote for Biden, it's about the vitriol and nastiness many white male Bernie supporters spewed and continue to spew towards anyone who has the slightest qualm about Bernie. And the way they demonized Liz was sooooo deeply misogynistic, but when confronted about it, they default to "Just because it's about a woman doesn't mean it's sexist!" No, but just because a woman deserves critique doesn't mean the criticism directed towards her isn't sexist.

Regardless, I wish "Liz to Biden" people would realize that most of Bernie's supporters aren't White Leftist I-Know-Better-Than-Women-and-POC-Because-I-Read-Marx's-Capital-and-Engel's-The-Origin-In-My-Intro-to-Sociology-of-Economy-Class Dudes, and vote for the policies they claim to believe in instead of... a senile segregationist.

I think you're taking OC's comment a different direction to make your own point. I don't think the sexism directed at Warren is relevant at all to the topic... I'm referring to the allegation that it's entitled white men who have the "determination for it to be [Bernie] or nothing" when that's not the only demographic who feels that way.

Oop you're right I must have skimmed over the last part of the OC

actually my original comment was about how I've been engaged with by the white men in his fanbase, not an indictment of everyone of his supporters being this way NOR an assumption that they're the only ones who want to vote for him

other people have explained why it came off otherwise

Their determination for free healthcare or nothing, you mean? And I want to point out that most of his supporters are women.

I'm specifically talking about my experience interacting with Bernie Bros both on the 2016 election and in this one, not implying that the only people endorsing him are white men, which is why I said 'don't be cute'

I actually did not know this person wasn't a white guy and thought they were being obtuse about the distinction I was making. I called them out like that trying to acknowledge it wasn't the entire voter base he has and honestly though I was being clear that way by doing so.

And re: your other reply I've interacted with them on Twitter and other spaces online outside of here. I wasn't calling anyone on ONTD or the environment here out. Often we vent about what we experience elsewhere, that's all I was trying to do.

They are specifically talking about the white men though.

I don't know why people try to downplay this.

They have had bad interactions with the white men that uphold Bernie. As have I.

I know that women and people of color support Bernie. I'm a black woman that does.

To trot out his poc supporters/surrogates when you're talking about your experience is so dismissive. :/

Then in the very least they could understand as a fellow poc that yeah I'm not making up what ive experienced. And it's not a made up media talking point. But it's never addressed nor experience validated, its just dismissed.
