Netflix is canceling screening for SXSW 2020 per Variety. Netflix was planning on showing five films and a panel for #BlackExcellence

and it makes me curious what will happen to cannes, comic-con, coachella and all these other majors festivals if things get worse.

I think they would only do that if their insurance covers it. O/w I dont see them cancelling.

that's really fucked up to me. ECCC is ran by ReedPop who does like 50 other conventions. They won't be hurt as badly as a small or non-profit con would be. It's very greedy imo

They canceled Eve Fanfest in Iceland with people coming in from all over the world and the neckbeard fanboys are raaaaaaging. But most are also secretly preppers so they're now digging a fallout shelter just in case.

ECCC’s offering refunds now, thank god.

In related personal news (lol), my work is dumb enough to hold a fucking ribbon cutting ceremony for our new SEATTLE office and it’s mandatory for me. I’m texting my boss tomorrow morning and bowing out, especially with the whole “let’s avoid groups of more than 10 people” guidance we got from health officials. But... well, I’d better watch what I say because I just got a promotion and I can’t trust LJ to keep my info private haha

ReedPop is SO greedy! They’re refunding attendees but not guests that had to cancel, which is a start but I’m reading on comic twitter that it’s too late for a lot of places to cancel now

For SDCC and Cannes they probably won’t wait as long as ECCC is if it stretches into the summer. Coachella IS next month though
