From what I remember she was attending acting classes when she met Doug and he was her tutor? I think it was a case of her family always pushing her to get into modelling, acting, or singing in order to achieve some kind of fame, and then sadly she became famous through her marriage to him

She was a nobody with a pushy stage mom. They bought acting lessons from him which is how they met and he started grooming her.
