While they did not go into Season 5 knowing that it would definitely will be the show’s final chapter, they wrote the Season 5 finale (airing April 1st) so it could also work as a series finale.

I hate when shows kill off a major character and only live another season/could’ve written the character off smoothly by the end anyways.

Ackley Bridge killed off a character when she was going to graduate and most of her peers were too... like why?

They should’ve written a better exit. They should never have brought back A Day In The Life Quentin/Eliot reveal only to never follow through. I never expected them to explore that romantic relationship further UNTIL that episode in season 4. Since they knew they should never have opened new threads they weren’t going to resolve, have both characters be miserable for the entire season, gush about the relationship in interviews and press

Honestly, good you did because that season was a SHITSHOW. Not that the show was ever perfect but the complete dropping of Cory's sexuality storyline was such a ??? Why did they have him sleep with Naveed if they were never gonna explore his bisexuality?

I almost posted here about the show when I discovered it because I thought it was so cool that the main character was a girl who was a lesbian and a Pakistani British Muslim, and how they dealt with racism and socioeconomic status issues (I ended up loving Jordan and his story) - but then it disappointed me so much in S3. Surprisingly, I think the only thing done well in S3 was Sam's development/storyline.

I'm very confused rn, I thought it ended on that finale. I don't watch it but from context I was certain people were even more mad because it ended like that. Also, those people I follow who posted a lot of magicians just stopped posting about them.

A lot of fans who were angry about the season 4 finale just stopped watching the show out of protest (and subsequently stopped posting online about it as well). But there is in fact a fifth season currently airing.
