Finally went to see Portrait of a Lady on Fire again for the first time since TIFF, and my god, it's even more gorgeous than I remembered. Claire Mathon's cinematography is absolutely exquisite.

And I know everyone loves Adèle Haenel, but I am all about Noémie Merlant, just effortlessly drawing my eye in every goddamn scene.

Last night, we rewatched Romeo + Juliet. It is one of the first films that sparked my love of movies - I saw it for the first time when I was 12 or so, and my life was just not the same afterward, so despite its imperfections it will always be meaningful to me. We started watching my DVD version the other night, but it looked so shitty I stopped it like 15 minutes in and ordered the blu-ray, which looks a million times better.

Today's the last day for Little Women in the AMCs near me, so I'm debating whether to go see that for a sixth time this afternoon, or to rewatch Birds of Prey in IMAX, which it also loses starting tonight. Or maybe neither, idk.

I wasn't interested in The Invisible Man until I saw this comment

#TheInvisbleMan has set a very high bar for whatever Universal Monsters reboots might follow. This is how you do it.

Also a wonderful example of how wrong folks are when they say a trailer “showed the whole movie.” That misconception actually becomes an asset here.

because I definitely thought the trailer showed the entire movie. I'll wait for more reviews to see if it's worth checking out!

I saw Portrait last week and I'm still thinking about it. It's so beautiful. I NEED a director's cut STAT

See little women while you still can!

Six times would beat my movie going record, I saw catching fire and baby driver five times each lol

Jsyk, this comment literally prompted me to get off my ass and drive to the last showing of Little Women at my local AMC, and I am glad I did bc it was still perfect (maybe more so?!?) and it still made me smile and laugh and cry, and was certainly a better use of my time than clicking around on the internet aimlessly for two hours. So thank you!! <3

I set my personal repeat moviegoing record with CMBYN while Moviepass was still a thing, and it greatly exceeded six, lol. But I think this has to be the runner up!

Yayyyy I’m so happy you did!

I rmember telling you years ago when it was still in theaters that normally when I love a movie I see it multiple times in theaters but for CMBYN the first time I saw it was so magical and perfect that I was afraid I would ruin it or something so I only saw it the one time lol

Mte about portrait.

I already knew about Adèle and she was amazing in this film but Noémie was breathtaking.
