I make my own peanut butter. You literally just rub the peanuts so the husks come off and then blend them until the oil is released. I sometimes add honey or Himalayan sea salt or caramel.

It's very easy. I've found that you need about two cups of peanuts for one cup of peanut butter. You can roast the peanuts in the oven for a few minutes if you want, but you don't have to. All you have to do is put them in your blender, pulse it a few times to break up the peanuts. Then keep blending for about a minute at a time. After a minute, you might need to scrape the sides. You just do that until it reaches a consistency you like!

You can add ginger, honey, dates, cinnamon...it's really fun.

I want to try this! I don't have a high speed blender though, just a food processor. What kind of equipment do you use?

I use the Ninja Mega! It's not too expensive -- I think the whole system was about 120 USD (it includes different accessories for mixing different types of food). It works just as well as the more expensive Breville and Cuisinart ones.

It's also great for making almond milk.
