Guillermo del Toro's Nightmare Alley has begun filming in Toronto this week, with a cast including Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Toni Colette, Willem Dafoe, Ron Perlman and more. The film is based on the William Lindsay Gresham novel of the same name, and is about a manipulative, ambitious "young carny", played by Cooper, who hooks up with a psychiatrist, played by Blanchett. Kim Morgan co-wrote the script with del Toro, and the film will be released by Fox Searchlight Pictures.

Okay, tbf I did some more reading and the book apparently spans years, but I did have a hearty chuckle @ BCoop's character being described as young.
