ive seen almost all the shorts and so many of them are just lackluster. animated is the best of the three groups so i would seek out that block if youre going to see these in a theater.

Thanks for the heads up. That's depressing, honestly. I really love those short film YT channels (i.e. Omeletto). I discover so many good newbie filmmakers there, but their films never seem to reach a wider audience outside of YouTube/garner buzz outside of local festivals. I feel this year (well, technically 2019) has been kind of lackluster minus a few gems. I'm down for animation, tho.

Seeing The Rhythm Section tonight. I want to try and see most of the films directed by women in wide release this year, and while The Turning wasn't the best start to this experiment, I'm hoping this one is better.

The Oscar shorts are A-List eligible, so I'm thinking about seeing those as well. But The Assistant sounds really hard to watch, idk if I'm up for that one.
