I don't understand the marketing for this movie. Do they want audiences who only know who these characters are already to go see it?

TBH, my knowledge about these characters is minimal. I think they're banking it all on HQ.

No, they’re trying to make something that’ll appeal to the public / women ala hustlers, but an action flick oriented.

I think it’s going to work; it seems a lot more cohesive than suicide squad. Also, how often do we get a girl power superhero movie film that actually contains and focuses on more than one woman in a way that’s not just reducing them to sentient male gaze vessels? Wonder Woman / Captain Marvel come close but even then it’s mostly focused on the titular star and tbh Wonder Woman, as much as I loved it, was also her just dragging Steve through the least romantic European getaway of all time
