ETA: "The film will be released in select theaters and on Netflix on January 31st."

Ah perfect timing to bring up this well-known old scandal to build up hype for the upcoming netflix special. I see you Taylor.

LOL this is why people consider her disingenuous. Everything she does is calculated to benefit her narratives or albums.

If she wasn't so fake I'd almost admire her PR hustle. Girl is a snake lol.

I mean I think she was asked about it by the director of the doc in promotion for the doc. It’s from the Variety interview.

sis lbr she knows that causes headlines. Taylor too big to need extra attention for her doc. Her doc will get numbers with or without those comments.

Okay but she talked about a lot of different things in the interview and everyone is sick of this shit so I don’t agree she’s using it for views. There was honestly no need for a separate post (but we always do do this so people can talk about each point since “ontd doesn’t read”) because this was all in the Variety interview. It was about everything that comes up in the doc- debating with her father, the extra danger he feels because of crazies when she speaks about certain things, her mom’s cancer, the lack of Grammy noms rep got - it wasn’t just about this.

The other things mentioned are fine but the fact that Taylor still likes to talk about it and allows reporters to question on it is on her. Plenty of actors and singers tell interviewers prior what are off-topic to talk about. Taylor has brought that Kanye moment for almost every single album release in some way shape or form.

She holds on to a lot of her immaturity cause it's part of brand and image. She knows what will sell and cause talk.

She needs to let it go for her own growth and maturity. She can be a better artist than these overdone-guessed out antics.

I mean I’ve said a million times that I’d rather her not ever mention Kanye but I guess a Taylor Swift documentary without that moment being referenced is unfortunately not gonna happen. And tbf, Kanye has brought up the Taylor incidents multiple times as well (but admittedly not in like a year) and goaded her yet people always seem to forget that or have no issues when he does it.

That all said, I agree she should move on from it for her own sanity and hopefully she really doesn’t “think too hard about this stuff now.” No one cares about this besides them and she should let her career stand on its own, stop tying it to Kanye West. This isn’t selling and the only talk it’s causing is about how she should stop talking about it, I mean look at the replies to the tweet. She’s really off base if she thinks this is selling.

I wouldn't mind it if she wasn't so obsessed with being the victim in every situation. Her parents did a number on her during her upbringing.

Taylor would actually get more respect if she would learn to take Ls and grow up.
