I haven't watched the documentary but was she engaged to him after he was convicted of one murder and accused of two others?

Yeah, they were together until his death. The one small positive thing I can say about Hernedez is that he did genuinely seem to love her and their daughter.

I honestly doubt he loved her. It seems to me that he stuck with her because she was a ride-or-die for him. She was super submissive and loyal. And a very good beard.

I haven't watched this yet, but I just finished the Gladiator podcast by the Boston Globe's sports writer based off Hernandez and the Patriots's organization covering up so much just to have this guy play (even going so far as buying him a flop house) should be something they answer for.

The NFL is as toxic a entity as you can get.

Oh thanks for mentioning this podcast - I wanna get into more sports podcasts that deal with scandals, corruption, etc. I don’t really want to see the doc for some reason

It was really good and they pulled no punches in holding the Patriots and FSU accountable for their win at all cost mentality.

I think you mean UF, not FSU.

i started watching Don't Fuck with Cats not really knowing at all what it was about and I couldn't get through the first episode because I was fast forwarding so much through every time they showed one of the Youtube video clips that I think I was missing a lot of information lol. I just couldn't stand to watch even seconds of it!

Lol I kept fast forwarding too, it was pissing me off! They didn’t need to show those clips so much to get the message across

I've been hesitant about watching that. Is it graphic?

I finished it yesterday and I don't understand why she was with him, unless she was just his beard. She was so much smarter, nicer, more open-minded than that piece of shit was.

Was she tho... she sided with her murderous boo over her sister.

He was a superstar football player with millions of dollars. And they had been together since high school. What is there to be confused about? He upgraded her entire life

Yeah, like I don't get the bafflement. Women stay with men for a lot of reasons, but especially if there are superstar millionaires.

I watched this yesterday and I’m still kind of trying to sort out how I feel about all of it. It’s tragic, all around. But I didn’t like the last 10 minutes where they argued whether CTE was the cause. I think he suffered mentally and that CTE piled on to it. I also agree you can’t blame everything on CTE, but it’s obvious that not enough people take it seriously.

syphilisdiller January 17 2020, 17:46:01 UTC
right? how can you look at the side be side comparisons of a regular brain and one with CTE and not believe that a person with CTE can be majorly affected?

yeah, he was obviously affected by it, but it was obvious his own mental issues were also brewing up even before he started playing football full time. dude was already mentally fucked thanks to his parents. the cte only amplified his issues imo
