What happened in the original series? I was going to start it but I don't want to be disappointed!

idk how much detail you want, but it just has an extremely abrupt and disappointing ending. It totally seemed like it was suddenly canceled and they didn't get a chance to wrap things up, but then the creator/writer was like "nope, that was the plan, bye!" and it was INSANE.

I thought I read that Showtime ultimately cancelled the series to put their money elsewhere, because they weren't making anything back from it.

[Spoiler (click to open)]Vanessa (Eva Green's character) dies in a bullshit way. After spending like three seasons combating the darkness inside of her she's just like "welp just fucking kill me cuz I can't do this" and her love interest shoots her. It's fucking stupid.

They just killed Eva Green character off like she was fighting all these demons (on the inside and on the outside) for fun, and in the end nothing really mattered and she just died of a bullshit while she've survived much worse.
