my aunt had lyme disease a few summers ago and it was pretty bad but she got on antibiotics and was fine in like 2 weeks

I mean, I guess. Not saying it's the sole province of hypochondriacs. But it is also an extremely common self-diagnosis for hypochondriacs and/or people with munchausen syndrome and/or liars

no it's not even endemic to CA lol. "chronic lyme" disease which is what probably most celebs claim to have is kind of made up and not medically proven to be a thing. that doesn't mean it may not be real somehow, but there is 0 literature to support it

It’s actually super rare in LA because we don’t have ticks. Confirmed Lyme cases in SoCal are between 0-8 per year.

Of course you don’t have to have confirmed Lyme to claim chronic Lyme.
